Why be a RussaYog instructor? |
Financial aspects of being a RussaYog instructor |
Two of the largest employment growth areas are health care and personal training. Those offering personal training, motivation and instruction in yoga, Pilates, weight training, martial arts, dance, and aerobics, are in great demand and this demand will only increase over the coming months and years. A typical rate for personal training sessions ranges from $50-70 per hour in the U.S.
|
The RussaYog workout combines all of the best elements of the above-mentioned workouts, and adds unique dimensions to create a complete mind-body experience designed to provide a rich, multi-dimensional life, full of karmic wealth. In approximately 6 hours of work per day, you can earn a good living, make great friends (accumulate social wealth), help others, and enjoy a super fit lifestyle. Expand your horizons by developing leadership skills and become more self-aware. |
Most modern careers require 4 years of college, at a cost of about $100,000 and thrust you into a lifestyle where your success depends upon you being better than others. Many of these careers are exciting and offer a great lifestyle, but for some, these traditional paths can be limiting. RussaYog offers a unique style. A sample 6 hours per day of instruction: Two 90-minute personal training sessions, approx. $100,
2 90-minute group classes: $150.
You may need an additional 2 hours for commuting, networking, etc. Based on the above estimate, you can earn $75,000 per year if you are based in the United States. Initially you may want to start out part-time and build clientele over the first year, depending upon your own life situation. |
| What does the certification process involve? |
| The training requires 200 hours of study/practice. Of this, 100 hours is contact with certified RussaYog instructors Jasprit Singh and Teresa Singh. Remaining 100 hour includes independent study, based on the following: |

2. Practice of RussaYog and other traditional yoga disciplines. |
3. Aquiring knowledge of basic anatomy and illnesses/injury prevention |
|
Am I suited to be a RussaYog instructor?
To become a RussaYog instructor you must have a certain level of fitness: physical, emotional, social, and spiritual.
Physical Fitness
You need to be able to perform the demanding asans and even though you may not be doing the full session with your clients, you should be able to perform 90 minutes of RussaYog per day.
Emotional fitness
You will be motivating others to participate in a wonderful lifestyle. If you yourself suffer from anxieties, fears, victimization syndrome, it will be hard to work with others. Do you consider yourself calm and emotionally balanced?
Social Fitness
You need to have a love for helping people in a healthy way. Be able to enjoy other people’s development and success. Have patience.
Spiritual Fitness
In the RussaYog lifestyle spiritual fitness does not mean belief in dogmatic religions or discourses on God’s plans. Spiritual fitness means enjoying other people’s happiness and helping them achieve happiness and enjoy life. It means having no (or very minimal) prejudice against any human being, and believe in the intrinsic equal worth of each person.
What is your potential client pool?
Anyone interested in holistic mind-body fitness is a potential student. Candidates could include athletes, sports teams, schools, dancers, dance studios, martial artists (dojos), traditional yoga students, and office workers. You may also offer classes in business office settings, church groups, at book clubs.
If you have a regular (1.5 times per week average attendance) client pool of 12 individual personal training clients and 40 group clients (average 1.5 times per week), it should support an income of about $75,000 per year (in U.S).
Through the use of the RussaYog Primal Shakti Yoga Tree® or the RussaYog Danda (staff)®, you can perform the workout in a client’s space, or outdoors. If you are affiliated with a studio/gym, you must consider the added expense of rent, etc., but your own studio can afford you greater possibilities.
As a trained instructor, can I train other instructors?
No. RussaYog workouts are the intellectual property of RussaYog LLC. Just as you cannot legally print copies of “Harry Potter” books and sell them, or make copies of the latest Hollywood blockbuster movie and sell them, you cannot train others in RussaYog. However, we can provide additional certification for you to partially train someone, and then the final certification will be completed through RussaYog LLC. Contact RussaYog LLC for details.
I am a personal trainer. I just want to add the strength and stamina part of RussaYog (bal-lila) to my practice. How will I do that?
We offer a 10-hour training session where you would use the strength/stamina part (bal-lila) to incorporate into a personal training program. You would use the Primal Shakti Yoga Tree®, or the RussaYog Danda (staff)®. The rights to use the RussaYog workout is $500 (including training and certification) and the cost of the Tree itself is $250, so for $750 you would have the capability to use the RussaYog Tree and lead the Bal-lila portion of the workout in your personal training sessions.
How much will it cost me to become a fully certified RussaYog instructor and start my own business?
Our first introductory training session was in Feb. 2008. The cost for training is $1,500. There are various options which include reduced rates for teaching agreements. Additional cost for residential training in the Santa Barbara Vishram Beach Aashram in California will be added. Next Teacher Training to be announced... contact us if you are interested.
The cost of the Yoga Tree is $250. The cost of a Danda is $100.
If you free-lance, you don’t necessarily need a yoga space, so the cost of starting your business could be as low as $2,000. If you want to expand your business and add more Dandas or Trees, the cost will increase.
I already own a studio/fitness center. How do I get started in this business?
We can certify you and /or your instructors and also certify your studio for use of either the RussaYog Dandas or Trees®, or permanently anchored structure. Contact us.
What are the options for setting up ropes in my facility?
Several alternatives exist. An easy-to-set-up structure could be used in an existing yoga/fitness room. Contact us for details and see photos of a sample structure here. Or, one could purchase yoga trees or dandas for quick assembly and store them when not in use. They can be disassembled for easy storage. One could also have ropes fitted from anchors in an existing room. Contact us for details. (talk @russayog.com)
